Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends! You can book online or call the store at 616-272-4693.

What are your hours?

We’re open Sundays and Mondays from 10am-3pm and Tuesday through Saturday, we’re open from 10am-7pm!

Do you have pre-made products available for purchase in-store?

Yes! Though our inventory and offerings may vary, we typically have for purchase our single-scent candles, our Poetic Line signature scent candles, bath & body products, gift packs, wax melts, reed diffusers, and a beautiful line of curated retail items.

How long does the Candle Experience Take?

Candle making takes between 30-60 minutes, with a set time for the candles of 2 hours. We have lots to do in the neighborhood; check the front desk for a "Things to do while you wait" card!

Should I book a regular reservation or a Private Event?

Regular reservations are for groups of 16 or less, with no room fee or minimum payment. These are are our most typical! Private Events are for groups of 15-40, with room fees and minimum payments included inn the total price! Check out our Private Party page for more info!

Can I pour into a container I did not buy at Wax Poetic?

Yes! We do not guarantee containers that we do not sell, but are happy to pour them for you! We use a price scale for outside containers, and include a $5 discount!

Can I bring my container back?

Yes! Please feel free to bring in your cleaned out vessel for $5 off your next pour.

Where do I park?

Street parking is available. Please note it is pay-to-park via mobile app Monday through Friday, up until 6 PM. After 6 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays, street parking is free!

Wax Poetic Candle Bar does validate parking for the Kingsley Lot, and if you don’t mind a walk, you can find parking on the neighborhood streets.

What is a Wax Poetic candle made of?

All of our candles are made with a coconut apricot wax, cotton wicks, and clean-burning fragrance oils.

How much does it cost to make a candle?

Pricing depends on the container you choose. Our containers range from $32 to $104.

If I want to take my candle home the same day, what time should I come in?

A Wax Poetic candle takes time to set after it is poured. It takes about 2 hours from the time your candle is poured until it is ready for you to take home. Typically, if you arrive 3 hours prior to close, you are able to take your candle home same day.

How many fragrances can I blend together?

You may choose up to three of any of our fragrance oils to add to your custom hand-poured candle.

Do you sell gift cards?

Of course! You can purchase them online here or come into the store to purchase one. Any denomination is available.

Can we bring food and beverages?

Feel free to bring in a coffee, tea or water, but we do not allow other beverages, alcohol, or food!
