Meet Mary!
For the past 7 years, Mary's been an essential part of the Wax family, and with 20 years in the fragrance industry, she's a true expert.
Mary's passion for creating experiences that make people feel good about themselves and their spaces fuels her love for what she calls "the best job ever." Her favorite scent? A heartwarming blend of Balsam Fir, Cinnamon Spice, Orange Zest, and Cigar Lounge—a nostalgic smell of her grandparents' cozy shop in Door County, Wisconsin.
You can find Mary watching anything and everything Chicago Bears, heading up north to her cabin with her family, or snuggled up with her two english labs Cairo and Luther at home!

Meet Kenzie!
Kenzie has been a part of the Wax Poetic family since day one, joining as an original employee when the shop opened in 2017. Over the past 8 years, she's turned her love of candles into an art form, creating beautiful, custom scents for the Wax Poetic community.
What drew Kenzie to Wax Poetic? The chance to not only work in a candle shop but to actually create each candle by hand—a craft she finds endlessly fascinating. Her personal favorite blend? A cozy-meets-manly mix of cashmere and midnight swim, perfect for warming up any space.
You can find Kenzie sipping margs at Donkey, playing a round at one of GRs many golf courses, or catching the latest movie at Studio Park!

Our Company Story
Wax Poetic Candle Bar opened its doors in 2017, looking to bring an experience based fragrance destination to Grand Rapids. We had a goal to provide a high quality candle making and home fragrance option for our customers, with the best ingredients and materials we could find.
Owner, Jill, curated this experience with the intention of evoking memory, emotion, and nostalgia, all while getting to spend quality time with friends and family. Here, at Wax Poetic, we provide the space for you to make those memories. We can't wait to pour with you.
